BURGUNDY. Episode 5

by Amah's Heart. The next day I drove down to the store to see the sales attendant. I did not meet her. I described her to her colleagues and I was told she was sacked last month. I called one of the sales attendants outside of my car. " Why... what was her offense? I asked, not that I was really concerned but I wanted to know if she duped or manipulated another victim into buying the wrong thing. " Is a long story sir but let me cut it short. The reason why she was sacked is that she left her duty post in search of particular shoe polish for one customer in other stores. Is a Burgundy color polish and we don't have that particular one here. When my madam found out, she sacked her and ever since then I haven't heard of her. Please, sir, I have to get back to work. My madam must not catch me interacting with a customer freely during working hours. I brought out some cash and hand over to her, she collected it and thanked me.  She quickly ran back inside...

BURGUNDY. Episode 3.

By Amah’s Heart. That Saturday Ireti came but did not waste time. She said she was attending a party and just wanted to stop by and know my place but she will return back the following weekend and we will spend time together. Within the week we get to talk more and I was loving the way she made me feel. On the following weekend, Ireti was coming to spend time with me. I couldn’t just keep calm. My heart was overfilled with joy. My house was in perfect order. I must impress her with everything. Since I wasn’t a good cook, I decided to order Chinese and other African food from a big restaurant. And they delivered it all in time. I also ordered some continental dish.  I don’t know the type of wine she will like to take but I made sure there were varieties of things. If she doesn’t want one she will want the other. BURGUNDY. Episode 2.

By Amah’s Heart. I drove down to the store and just as I was about to step down from my car I saw the sales attendant walking towards me with a bag in hand. She greeted me and I nodded absent-minded, all my mind was in getting hold of whatever was inside the bag. It was as if she knew my thought and quickly handed the bag over to me. I first saw two deep brown polish and frown. I started boiling angrily and did not bother to check the next item. “What is this…what is the meaning of this rubbish? After giving me hope that you will help and get the polish you got this rubbish for me. Does this look like a burgundy color to you? Were you deaf and dumb or is it that you cannot understand simple English when I was mentioning the exact color that I needed. What kind of disappointment is this eh? BURGUNDY. Episode 1.

By Amah's Heart. I walked into the store and the sales attendant standing close to the cashier greeted me warmly. I smile back in response before proceeding to what I came to buy which was shoe polish. I searched all round the place for this particular shoe polish. My uncle had sent this particular shoe for me from London and is been over three months I have not used the shoe. He sent it with a pack of polish but I don't know how the polish got missing. I have searched, scattered the whole house even ask my family and friends if they saw any polish but none of them did. My friend's wedding is coming up this Saturday and I have already plan on how to rock my shoe for the first time but it needs a little shining to be able to stand out.  I'm part of his groomsmen and almost everyone is set for the wedding and I don't want to disappoint on Jide's big day.
